Travelolo’s Guide to Hurghada

The MinaMark Beach Resort certainly gets top marks from us. It’s got everything you could want from a getaway to Hurghada, including a heated outdoor pool, a sea-view sun deck and five restaurants. The hotel is perched on a private stretch of sand, too, so it’s perfect for beach lovers. Head out of the front of the property, meanwhile, and you’ll find yourself in the centre of Downtown Hurghada. It’s just a few minutes’ drive from the Mamsha Promenade, and a short stroll will take you to the glitzy new marina. Spend your days chilling out by pool – there’s a separate one for little ones – or head up to the sun deck, which is lined with loungers and perfect for relaxation. You’ll also find an aqua park with three slides for grown-ups, and a pirate ship-shaped splash park for kids. When hunger strikes, make tracks for the two buffet restaurants, which serve international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then there are three à la eateries to choose from, including a fish restaurant, an Italian trattoria and a Lebanese place. During the day, you can grab a quick bite at the poolside snack bar or the beach bar. Activities-wise, you’ve got the choice of sports like tennis, ping pong and volleyball. Or, head down to the beach and try out the watersports offering. There’s a separate line up of activities for kids, like face painting, arts and crafts, and play time in the outdoor playground. For relaxation, look no further than the spa, which offers pampering treatments and is also home to a Jacuzzi, a sauna and a steam room. There’s also a gym if you fancy some ‘me time’ in the form of a workout.
