The resort of Kusadasi is located on Turkey's western Aegean coast, 80km south of Izmir airport.
Being a popular stop off for cruises
because of its proximity to Ephesus, Kusadasi has grown to accommodate this
constant influx of tourists. However it retains its charm and its popularity is
mainly due to its stunning coastal scenery.
The local beaches provide superb sun
bathing and water sports facilities and are lined with numerous cafes and bars.
The town beach is quite narrow and can get quite crowded however there are
several other local ones that can easily be reached using the local dolmus –
Kadinlar Beach, Green Beach, Long Beach, and Kustur/Tusan Beach.
Holiday makers can also take the ‘beach club' option. For a small fee you will
get deck chairs, sunshades, a cafe and/or restaurant, access to the
water and/or a swimming pool and possibly water sports. One of the best is the
Papaz Hamami Beach Club next to Pigeon Island.
For those that enjoy immersing
themselves in the local culture there is the labyrinth of streets that make up
the old town.
Located on the Aegean coast, Kusadasi
enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers.

There may not be grand shopping malls
or an influx of international designer labels, but Kusadasi is home to one of
Turkey’s largest shopping treasure troves – the Grand Bazaar.
It happens seven days a week from 9am
until midnight and comprises of more than 1000 stores and stalls. Bargain
hunters will find everything from leather jackets, sandals and carpets to
hand-made jewellery.
It is a fantastic experience and
definitely not one to be missed.
The Old Town
is the centre of Kusadasi’s vibrant nightlife. Bar Street (Barlar Sokagi) is
where it all happens. The street pulses with action in the evenings with the
hottest spot being the large open air disco, Ecstasy Bar which often features
