Surfside Beach is located
just south of Druif Beach near Orangestad. Its calm water is excellent for
swimming.
Amenities are fairly good
as there is a beach club and it is accessible by car, taxi or bus. Its close
proximity to the island’s capital gives you the best of both worlds – excellent
beach life plus easy access to the cities amenities and sights.
The whole of Aruba enjoys an average temperature
of 28°C. The island is made pleasantly cool throughout the year by constant
trade winds. Short showers occur during the months of October, November
and December.

Other than the beach club,
there are few other amenities on Surfers Beach. Therefore if you want to take a
break from the relaxation of the beach you will need to head for close by
Oranjestad. Here there are several shopping centres such as The Royal Mall
Plaza, Seaport Village Mall, Seaport Marketplace, Renaissance Mall and the Main
Street area.
Here you will be able to
buy all manner of goods from clothing and leather goods to jewellery and
locally made crafts.
There is very little in
the way of nightlife in Surfers Beach so if you are looking for bars, clubs and
restaurants you’ll have to make the short trip into Oranjestad where you’ll
find cocktail bars and nightclubs and the Alhambra Casino. Here are a few
suggestions to get you started.
Also every Tuesday evening
the Bon Bini festival takes place in Oranjestad.
The island of Aruba has a
number of attractions (other than its stunning beaches). Due to its size most
of these are within easy reach no matter where you are staying. Below is a
selection of some of the islands attractions that you might like to try during
your stay.
The tap water is safe to
drink on Aruba. Medical facilities are good but you
are strongly advised to ensure you have full health insurance in place before
travelling. Although Aruba is considered a safe place to visit,
use common sense for personal safety and secure your belongings.
